Deli clerk responsibilities include:
- Provide responsive and exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
- Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.
- Preparing special orders and party trays.
- High standards for product freshness and sanitation.
- Filling, maintaining, and rotating product displays.
- Operating cash register.
- Assisting in other duties as assigned.
- MUST be 18 years or older.
- Food preparation experience.
- Able to work as a team member.
- A passion for serving people.
- Duties performed primarily in the deli department include walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting deli products up to 50 lbs.

We have been in business since 1978 and are home to the WORLD FAMOUS OKTOBERFEST. In addition, we feature live music concerts every Thursday through Sunday year-round and have a 10,000 sq. ft. open-air Biergarten. Currently, we are seeking part-time servers and bartenders. Pay is minimum wage plus tips. (Tips are pooled).

Description
- Ensure every guest is having an enjoyable and memorable experience at Oktoberfest.
- All guests are to be served to Biergarten expectations and the Steps of Service for Cocktail Servers are followed.
- Interacting with customers by selling them shots, making recommendations, providing them with accurate bills, processing payments, and supplying them with their requests in a timely manner.
- Processing all payments in accordance with Biergarten policies. This includes cash handling.
- It is the responsibility of the cocktail server to inquire with Management as to what pricing they are able to sell shots for. What discount, if any, is available.
- Handling multiple tables and tasks in an efficient manner.
- Maintaining clean and presentable tables and work area- minimal trash and empty glassware on tables during service hours.
- Always keep a positive work attitude and friendly (approachable) demeanor with the ability to work well with coworkers and as a team when necessary.
- During business hours, a cocktail server is never to be out of their section for more than 2 minutes at a time. The only time out of their section should be to pick up a new tray or use the restroom.
- Maintain a polished professional appearance in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
- Inform management of any additional resources needed. If overwhelmed and cannot give service to expectation, ask for assistance.
- Immediately report any maintenance, security, and/or safety issues or concerns to a manager or security guard.
- If a cocktail server at any time feels as though they are being harassed by a guest or group that is displaying offensive language or gestures, the server must let Management and/or security know immediately as it is not taken lightly. Management will address the issue immediately and remedy as seen fit.
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and client
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Proactive and anticipate the needs of coworkers around them that may need
- Ability to have extensive knowledge on the beverages we offer on the menu and the mastery of the food menu in order to guide guests towards choices that are best for them
- Mechanical in execution uses organized steps of service to ensure order accuracy and consistency even in the busiest of times
- Build rapport with guests in order to increase repeat clientele
- Attend local events and promote Oktoberfest.
