German Deli at Old World Huntington Beach is seeking DELI & BAKERY PERSONNEL.
German Deli is seeking an experienced deli clerk with a customer service background. Someone upbeat, energetic, and loves working with employees and customers of different nationalities since Old World is home to many of them. Fluent in English is a must. Bilingual is a plus but not necessary. Must be able to multi-task and work under stress while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude. The Market is a small European grocery store (approx 1500 sq. ft.) as well as a deli and bakery. This is a family-owned business. We do not offer benefits of any sort. Pay rate based on experience.
Deli clerk responsibilities include:
- Provide responsive and exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
- Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.
- Preparing special orders and party trays.
- High standards for product freshness and sanitation.
- Filling, maintaining, and rotating product displays.
- Operating cash register.
- Assisting in other duties as assigned.
- MUST be 18 years or older.
- Food preparation experience.
- Able to work as a team member.
- A passion for serving people.
- Duties performed primarily in the deli department include walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting deli products up to 50 lbs.
